How many things still start only with you?

The close of the series: the eight areas that tell you whether AI is multiplying your team or just your review load — and a scorecard to find your lowest number.

Six chapters ago, every big feature at Riqra started with me. The PRD waited for my call notes. The design waited for my screens. The review waited for my eyes. Support waited for my forwarding. Then the knowledge moved to the repo, and the team started running in parallel.

None of that was really an AI story. The tools mattered, but every chapter was the same move: take something that lived in one person's head and availability, and turn it into something the team owns.

The system, seen whole

When I look at what changed, it comes down to eight areas: intent, specifications, how work is split into tasks for agents, parallel work, review, QA, accountability, and measurement. Score each from 1 to 5 and you get a picture of your engineering system, out of 40.

Teams that score low don't have an AI problem. They have a system problem that AI makes louder — more code, more review load, more QA risk, and the same one person everything waits on.

AI doesn't fix a bottleneck. It multiplies whatever the bottleneck allows through.

Find your lowest number

The useful question isn't your total. It's your lowest score — that's where work waits today, and it's usually blocking a commercial goal, not just an engineering metric. Which part of your workflow still lives only in someone's head? Where is AI creating review and QA load instead of capacity? What should change in the next 30 days?

That's the diagnostic I run with teams, and the scorecard version fits on one page.

If you score it, tell me your lowest area — message me on LinkedIn. I read everything that comes in.

I share the public pieces of this here. When the workflow problem is already real, I also help a few founder-led teams install the system behind it.

First you remove the bottleneck. Then the team multiplies.
